Sako Ma: A Look at the Sacred Monkey Totem by Matomah Alesha

Everyone has an animal guide. At least this is the belief among many animists. Animal powers are given to us just like a sacred name or
special hidden talents that proceed our birth. It defines purpose, orientation and ability. Well I did a special meditation and discovered my animal
power to be a monkey. I was at first disappointed. I mean who wants a monkey totem. I expected something grand like a black panther, an
eagle, a dragon or even a grey dolphin. But a monkey? I recoiled at first intimidated by the monkeys association with Darwinist de-evolution
and racism. I searched briefly for more information but did not find anything that inspired me in anyway. Most documents had only brief notes
on monkey totems. Most information was mirroring the false beliefs I had learned in school and society. I decided many years later to
investigate it for myself to see what was available in books and sources. What I discovered was explosive. I had anticipated a small booklet
but this document could have easily been more then that. The final manuscript gives a good overall outline and understanding of monkey
mythology found all over the world. In Africa, Japan, China, Europa, and South America, I uncovered the hidden cult honoring primates of all
kinds in native belief systems. You won't find a book quite like this anywhere. I know because I looked. This is one rare gem that deserves to
be in the library of anyone who is interested in ancient native practices, animal medicine, dark goddess lore and the human/primate sacred
relationship.

Some of the highlights of this book include
- A history of the white face baboon and his premier scribe - Tehuti,
- The heroic adventures of the Monkey King and his quest for the lotus sutras,
- Hanuman and the his monkey army in the Ramayana,
- Lucy, the great ancestor of humanity, who is part human and part ape,
- A wild and wondrous trek into the hidden simian fetish cults in central Africa,
- The extensive world of monkey-inspired martial arts and combat practices,
- An overview of primate totemic practices found in Shinto and Buddhist communities,

......And so much more.

"I think, Sako Ma: A Look at the Sacred Monkey Totem is full of discoveries for those who don't know much about animism or sacred
monkeys. It may be the only one of it's kind. “
